GreenDoor Wins $100K at Colorado’s First Cannabis Business Pitch Competition, Reinventing the Future of Cannabis Tourism
DENVER, CO — GreenDoor, the cannabis tourism startup making it easier than ever to plan a cannabis-friendly trip to Colorado, has won the $100,000 grand prize in the inaugural Cannabis Business Pitch Competition hosted by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) at the Colorado For All – Business Showcase and Resource Fair.
GreenDoor’s pitch impressed the judges with a bold vision: to become the go-to platform for cannabis travelers—connecting dispensaries, hotels, lounges, and experiences into one seamless booking experience. The company is building an entirely new category in cannabis tech by solving a long-standing problem: it’s still too hard to plan a cannabis trip, even in the country’s most cannabis-friendly state.
“This win validates what we’ve known all along—there’s a huge gap in the cannabis travel experience,” said Damon Brooks, Founder of GreenDoor. “We’re not just building another marketplace. We’re building the infrastructure for an entirely new type of tourism.”
The competition marked the first time OEDIT’s Cannabis Business Office offered a six-figure award through a live pitch event, expanding beyond its traditional grants of $20,000, $25,000, and $50,000, aimed at supporting Colorado’s social equity cannabis businesses and keeping the state’s cannabis industry competitive. GreenDoor, a recipient of earlier grant funding, was among several finalists selected based on potential for impact, growth, and long-term viability.
With this $100K investment, GreenDoor plans to scale its technology, deepen dispensary and lodging integrations, and introduce new trip personalization tools that make cannabis travel easier, smarter, and safer.
GreenDoor is currently onboarding early partners and preparing to launch its platform statewide.
